Dick Nelms’ 100th Birthday
Updated below with photos!
CAF Rainier Squadron will be at the Museum of Flight to celebrate the 100th birthday of WWII B-17 pilot and museum docent USAAF Capt Dick Nelms!
Dick was a guest on our speaker panel at our fundraiser screening of Into Flight Once More.
Weather permitting, we will take Dick on a flight in our 1944 AT-19 which saw service in India with the British Royal Navy. Our hope is that museum visitors will be able to watch the flight operation from the museum parking lot. The specific timing of the flight is TBD.
If you wish to donate to the Museum of Flight and the Blue Star Museums program in Dick’s honor: https://www.museumofflight.org/support/
If you wish to donate to CAF Rainier Squadron to help defray our costs of donating this flight to Dick, we thank you heartily! https://dev.cafrainier.org/donate/

12 Planes of Christmas
It’s again time for CAF’s 12 Planes of Christmas fundraiser! We appreciate your support last year, which helped us get the Reliant flying again and serving a full air show season. This year, we are looking to improve our interior and acquire some parts for our engine to have a smooth 2023 season!
If you wish to support our efforts to educate, inspire, and honor through flight and living history experiences, just go to www.cafrainier.org/12planes.
Thank you and … Keep ’em Flying!
